About Orion
Orion is building a financial platform across multiple products, including Intelligent Investing, Orion’s wealth product, and Mogo, Orion’s lending product.
We are hiring two Product Insights Analysts to help us understand what is actually happening across our products: who is using them, how customers move through the journey, where they get stuck, what drives trust and engagement, what predicts performance, and what the business should do next.
This role exists because bad data creates bad decisions.
Across lending and wealth, customer behaviour determines outcomes. If we misunderstand that behaviour, we build the wrong product, fund the wrong growth, miss the wrong risks, and make slower decisions. Your job is to help Orion see reality clearly.
About Orion
This is not a generic reporting role.
Orion operates financial products where customer behavior, trust, risk, conversion, retention, and performance determine whether the business compounds or breaks. Your job is to help build the intelligence layer that tells us what is actually happening.
Your work should give Orion a decision advantage: faster access to truth, clearer understanding of customer behavior, and better judgment about where to focus.
You will work across Intelligent Investing, Orion’s wealth product, and Mogo, Orion’s lending product. You will connect customer, product, marketing, survey, engagement, operational, risk, and financial data into a clear view of product and business performance.
You will map customer journeys, analyze funnels, build dashboards, identify insights, improve instrumentation, define metrics, and create trusted reporting foundations that help teams make better decisions faster.
You will work directly with Product, Engineering, Finance, Risk, Marketing, Operations, and Data teams to find the truth in the data and make the business move faster.
You should be comfortable working with imperfect or evolving data, challenging weak assumptions, and creating clarity from ambiguity.
You must be operating at the cutting edge of AI-enabled analytics. AI should already be a core part of how you work. You use it to accelerate analysis, write and debug SQL, explore datasets, synthesize customer feedback, generate documentation, automate repetitive workflows, and materially increase the speed and quality of your output. AI is not a side tool here. It is part of how the work is done.
What You’ll Do
Product, Customer & Business Insights
- Own analytics for one of our core Orion product areas across Intelligent Investing, Orion’s wealth product, and Mogo, Orion’s lending product.
- Help the business understand customer behavior, product performance, funnel health, engagement, retention, risk, and operational friction.
- Analyze customer journeys across acquisition, onboarding, application flows, activation, funding, product usage, engagement, repayment, retention, support friction, and long-term customer behavior.
- Connect customer data, product behavior, survey feedback, engagement signals, marketing data, financial data, risk data, and operational data into a unified view of what is happening.
- Build datasets, dashboards, and definitions that become part of how Orion operates.
- Analyze marketing and funnel performance, including source quality, conversion, activation, retention, and downstream customer value.
- Identify where customers are dropping off, where the product is creating friction, where reporting is misleading, and where business performance is improving or deteriorating.
- Help teams understand the relationship between customer behavior, product experience, business performance, and long-term outcomes.
- Surface insights, risks, and opportunities before they become obvious.
- Define, standardize, and document KPIs so teams are making decisions from consistent and trusted metrics.
- Translate complex business logic into scalable, reusable data structures that support consistent reporting across teams.
- Use AI aggressively to accelerate analysis, automate manual work, improve documentation, generate analytical workflows, and raise the quality and speed of your outputs.
- Work with Product and Engineering to ensure key customer events, product flows, and business processes are instrumented correctly and available for analysis.
- Develop and maintain SQL to support reporting, analytics, and operational decision-making.
- Design, develop, and maintain semantic data models in Snowflake or similar platforms.
- Contribute to data modernization initiatives, including redesigning existing reporting pipelines and improving analytical datasets.
- Work with Data Engineering and Architecture to ensure analytical datasets are reliable, scalable, governed, and well-documented.
- Apply best practices for testing, monitoring, documentation, and data quality.
- Identify missing, inconsistent, or unreliable data before it becomes embedded in business reporting.
- Support the integration of analytical assets into Orion’s broader data platform.
Culture & Growth
- Bring ownership, intensity, and a bias toward action.
- Challenge unclear metrics, weak assumptions, inconsistent definitions, and reporting that does not reflect business reality.
- Operate as a business partner, not a report-builder.
- Share knowledge and strengthen analytical capability across the team.
- Grow into more complex product analytics, data modeling, platform, and AI-powered analytics work over time.
What You’ll Bring
- 3–5 years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, Product Analytics, Analytics Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong SQL skills with experience designing analytical data models.
- Strong product analytics instincts, including funnel analysis, segmentation, cohort analysis, customer journey analysis, survey analysis, and behavioral analysis.
- Ability to connect user-level behavior to business outcomes such as conversion, engagement, retention, revenue, repayment, operational efficiency, risk, customer lifetime value, or long-term product performance.
- Experience with Snowflake, Looker, Tableau, Power BI, or similar modern analytics platforms.
- Solid understanding of dimensional modeling, KPI design, and reporting best practices.
- Strong judgment. You can distinguish signal from noise, challenge misleading metrics, and explain what the business should do next.
- Strong judgment on data reliability. You know when a metric is ready to use and when it is not.
- Comfort working with imperfect or evolving data and creating clarity from ambiguity.
- Strong communication skills. You can explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Comfort working directly with Product, Engineering, Finance, Risk, Marketing, Operations, and other business teams.
- Cutting-edge use of AI in your analytical workflow. You use AI daily to move faster, eliminate manual work, improve quality, and increase your personal output.
- A clear point of view on which parts of analytics work should no longer be done manually.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Snowflake Cortex Analyst or similar semantic-layer technologies.
- Experience with BI and visualization tools such as Looker, Tableau, or Power BI.
- Background in financial services, fintech, lending, credit risk, wealth, investing, or capital markets.

- Experience with product analytics, customer journey mapping, survey analysis, marketing funnel analysis, or customer engagement analytics.
- Exposure to conversational analytics, AI copilots, natural language query interfaces, AI agents, or AI-assisted analytical workflows.
- Experience supporting data platform modernization or cloud analytics migrations.
What Success Looks Like
