VP Marketing

Mogo is on the lookout for an entrepreneurial VP of Marketing who can build strong and trusting relationships with the executive team, succeed in a highly autonomous environment and keep pace with the rest of the leadership team. The VP of Marketing must be a strong leader who is passionate about building high performing teams with a flat structure and actively seeks to learn by listening to others and digging into the data. Like other leaders at Mogo, the VP will be able to switch back and forth between strategy and execution seamlessly to prioritize and drive projects over the finish line.

What you'll do:

  • Ruthlessly prioritize initiatives based on highest potential impact to the organization       
  • Manage the organization’s multi-million dollar marketing budget and optimize spend across all channels
  • Understand and develop customer profiles to design effective marketing initiatives
  • Develop and drive marketing strategies based on analytics and data (including on costs, conversion, retention, LTV and ROI) and discover revenue-driving growth opportunities in all marketing channels
  • Own the end-to-end acquisition strategy including management over online and offline channels ensuring a performance driven approach (constant measurement and optimization)
  • Oversee all aspects of marketing communications to drive acquisition and retention of Mogo members
  • Build and manage a high performing marketing team while partnering with key stakeholders in other departments on a variety of projects
  • Create and manage B2C marketing initiatives including events, partnerships, promotions, campaigns and loyalty programs
  • Manage the voice & brand of Mogo through content, advertising, email, blogs, and all social channels
  • Drive data-driven decision-making to improve customer acquisition, product conversion and retention

What you'll need:

  • University or college education in Marketing/Communications or equivalent
  • 10+ years’ of progressively senior management experience, preferably in a fast-paced and demanding start-up environment
  • Experience leading and executing traditional, digital, SEM, experiential, partnership, sponsorship, and social marketing communications
  • Proven success leading a high performing team, driving accountability for results while fostering productive and effective working relationships within the overall team
  • Experience with product marketing including marketing strategy, product positioning, brand strategy, and user research
  • The ability to keep up with the pace of Mogo, navigating the terrain of high-pressure and heavy workloads, while being comfortable with a high degree of autonomy.
  • In-depth understanding of the data, analytics, and optimization useful to a growing organization
  • Proven success navigating ever-evolving strategic initiatives and wrangling many A-type executives
  • A strong passion for branding, consumer behavior, and customer experience with an interest on how digital & data are evolving and driving each of these topics
  • Confident when working through ambiguities and change – the ability to stay cool as a cucumber
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills
