Corporate Accounting Manager
Corporate Accounting Manager
About the Role
This role is ideal for someone coming out of public practice or an early industry role who wants broader operational exposure, more ownership, and the opportunity to grow quickly within a fintech environment.
You’ll work closely with the Controller and Assistant Controller across public-company reporting, operational accounting, reconciliations, process improvement, and day-to-day finance operations. This is a highly collaborative role where you’ll be trusted with meaningful responsibilities early and encouraged to take initiative.
This is not a purely review-focused management role. We’re looking for someone who is comfortable rolling up their sleeves, enjoys problem solving, and helping improve how the accounting function operates as the business continues to scale.
For the right person, this role offers significant learning opportunities, mentorship, and a strong path toward broader finance leadership responsibilities over time.
Why This Role Matters
- Play a key role in the monthly and quarterly close processes of a dual-listed public company
- Work directly with experienced finance leadership in a collaborative, high-accountability environment
- Gain exposure to complex accounting areas including financial instruments, lending, treasury, consolidations, and fund-related reconciliations
- Build broad operational finance experience across reporting, reconciliations, AP oversight, and process improvement
- Help improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting reliability
- Contribute to automation and AI-driven workflow improvements over time
- Support and mentor one direct report while continuing to develop your own leadership capabilities
- Take on increasing ownership and responsibility as the finance organization evolves
What You’ll Own
- Preparation and review of journal entries supporting monthly and quarterly close processes
- Ownership of balance sheet reconciliations, including investigation and resolution of reconciling items
- Oversight and improvement of accounts payable workflows and vendor payment processes
- Support for revenue accounting processes, including reconciliation and tracking of operational revenue streams
- Preparation and review of financial reporting schedules and supporting working papers across monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting cycles
- Participation in consolidation processes across multiple entities
- Accounting support across areas including loans, financial instruments, leases, accruals, and fund-related reconciliations
- Preparation of audit schedules and support for external audit requests
- Documentation and improvement of accounting processes and controls
- Investigation and resolution of accounting discrepancies identified during close
- Coordination with FP&A and operational teams to ensure accounting outputs accurately reflect business activity
- Ongoing process improvement across NetSuite, reconciliations, AP workflows, and financial reporting processes
- Day-to-day support and mentorship of one direct report
Who Thrives in This Role
You’ll do well here if you are someone who:
- Wants to accelerate your accounting career faster than a traditional corporate environment allows
- Is ambitious, curious, and motivated by growth and learning
- Is comfortable balancing both operational execution and more technical accounting responsibilities
- Enjoys solving problems and improving processes
- Is willing to be hands-on and operate in a lean environment
- Values trust, reliability, and being someone the team can depend on
- Wants exposure beyond traditional accounting responsibilities
What You Bring
- CPA designation completed or near completion
- 4–7 years of progressive accounting experience
- Big 4 or mid-tier public practice background preferred
- Strong IFRS and financial reporting foundation
- Experience supporting operational accounting functions such as AP, reconciliations, revenue accounting, or financial statement preparation
- Strong attention to detail and reconciliation mindset
- Ability to investigate accounting issues independently and work through ambiguity
- Strong Excel skills and experience working with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred)
- Comfortable operating in a hands-on, execution-focused environment
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities
- Clear communication skills and ability to explain accounting issues logically and concisely
