About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior Manager, Accounting to join Orion’s Finance team and lead the accounting function through a period of continued growth and operational maturity.

This role will serve as the accounting “spine” of the organization, ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of financial reporting across multiple entities. You’ll oversee the monthly close process, lead the external audit, and provide technical accounting leadership across complex areas including financial instruments and lending products.

This is a hands-on leadership role suited for someone comfortable operating in a lean, fast-paced public-company environment where strong judgment, operational discipline, and technical expertise are equally important.

You will work closely with the Director of Finance to strengthen internal controls, support financial reporting obligations, and continue building a scalable accounting function as the company grows.

What You’ll Do

  • Oversee and govern the monthly and quarterly close processes, ensuring discipline across the close calendar and accuracy of financial reporting.
  • Review complex accounting areas including loans, debentures, leases, accruals, and other financial instruments under IFRS.
  • Lead technical accounting analysis and prepare or review accounting memos supporting complex transactions and policy decisions.
  • Act as the primary liaison with external auditors, coordinating audit timelines, deliverables, and responses to audit requests.
  • Ensure financial statements and supporting schedules are complete, accurate, and compliant with IFRS and public company reporting standards.
  • Strengthen internal controls and support the evolution of the company’s control framework as the business scales.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to the accounting team while establishing clear accountability across operational accounting processes.
  • Oversee treasury governance and ensure appropriate segregation of duties within payment and cash management processes.
  • Partner cross-functionally with FP&A, Treasury, Product, and Engineering teams to ensure accounting outcomes accurately reflect operational activity.
  • Support improvements in accounting systems and reporting tools, including continued optimization of NetSuite and financial reporting processes.

What You’ll Bring

  • CPA designation with 8+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Big 4 audit experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, particularly financial instruments and complex accounting transactions.
  • Experience operating in a public company or pre-IPO environment preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience leading accounting close processes and coordinating external audits.
  • Strong leadership capability with the ability to operate effectively in a lean team environment.
  • Excellent analytical judgment and problem-solving ability.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex accounting matters to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
