Compensation: $75,000 – $90,000 CAD base + performance bonus + equity
The Opportunity
We’re looking for a high-performing Senior Accountant to join our Finance team in a hands-on role supporting fund accounting, fund audits, IFRS reporting, and operational finance activities within a dual-listed fintech environment.
This role is ideal for a newly designated CPA coming from a Big 4 firm, or someone with Big 4 experience plus 1 year of industry experience, who wants accelerated exposure, meaningful ownership, and a steep learning curve early in their career.
Reporting into Finance leadership, the successful candidate will work closely across monthly close, fund-related reconciliations, external audits, financial reporting, treasury-related accounting, and finance operations. The environment is lean, fast-paced, and highly collaborative — best suited for someone who enjoys solving complex accounting problems, improving processes, and operating in a high-accountability environment.
The successful candidate will gain broad exposure across public company reporting, fund structures, operational finance, and cross-functional finance initiatives, with strong long-term growth potential into future finance leadership or broader finance responsibilities.

What You’ll Own
Financial Reporting & Close
- Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting working papers for monthly and quarterly close
- Support IFRS financial reporting and preparation of internal and external reporting packages
- Analyze financial results and investigate variances, reconciling items, and accounting discrepancies
- Support consolidation activities across multiple entities and investment structures
- Assist with accounting across areas including accruals, investments, loans, leases, and treasury-related activities
Fund Accounting & Audit Support
- Support fund accounting activities, reconciliations, and reporting processes
- Prepare audit support schedules and coordinate with external auditors across fund audits and corporate audits
- Assist in responding to audit requests efficiently and accurately
- Maintain high-quality supporting documentation and audit-ready working papers
Operational Finance & Process Improvement
- Support select operational finance workflows and payment-related processes as needed
- Partner cross-functionally to ensure accurate and complete financial information
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows, reconciliations, and reporting processes
- Contribute to automation and process improvement initiatives across Finance systems and operations
What We’re Looking For
- CPA designation required
- 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience
- Big 4 public practice experience strongly preferred
- Experience with financial services, fintech, investment funds, or public company clients is considered an asset
- Strong understanding of IFRS and financial reporting fundamentals
- Experience supporting external audits and preparing audit support schedules
- Strong analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies independently
- Advanced Excel skills and experience working with ERP systems is considered an asset.
- Comfortable operating in a lean, fast-paced, execution-focused environment
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities
- High level of ownership, curiosity, and willingness to learn
- Interest in improving processes and leveraging automation/AI tools to reduce manual work

- Reconciliations and reporting deliverables are accurate, timely, and audit-ready
- Fund audit and financial reporting processes run efficiently and reliably
- Accounting issues are identified proactively and resolved thoughtfully
- Finance processes become more scalable and efficient over time
- You become a trusted operator within the Finance team who can independently own increasingly complex responsibilities
Over time, this role is intended to provide strong development opportunities toward future leadership or broader finance responsibilities based on performance, ownership, and growth.
